Our Baby's FIVE...

I'm not ready for this...five is big! He's not my baby anymore. I am sad with how quikly time flies, but I am in love with him more every day and probably indulge him a little too much and a little too often... 

Wyatt's birthday party was sooo much fun! Lately he's fascinated with volcanos and hot lava so I showed him a picture of a volcano cake I've been wanting to make for years for someones birthday and he fell in love with it...and it turned out awesome! For his birthday party he first wanted to take all his friends swimming, but too many boys and not enough parents to help could end in disaster, so then he decided he wanted to have a crazy science experiment party like we did for Colt, but he also wanted an Easter egg hunt because his actual birthday is going to be on Easter, so we combined both and the boys had way too much fun...we even had a surprise visit from two of the cutest Easter bunnies I've ever seen! Wyatt is such a joy and we enjoy him to the highest degree possible...he can do no wrong even though he's probably our hardest and most stubborn kid yet!! Every day, when Garrett leaves for work or comes home from work, I can hear him say to Wyatt..."I just love your face!"

Annual Easter Egg Hunt...

Traditions began with the annual Easter Egg Hunt with my Nichol cousins.  I love seeing my aunt Joan and Jami, Jori, Jodi and Jenni.  Growing up we celebrated most holidays together and vacationed together at Lake Powell, California, Palisades Lake, Yuba and I'm sure other places I've forgotten. I love my cousins!

This years hunt was held in Jodi's backyard because Jim and Joan's is torn up from bringing in huge boulders to help their backyard from being pulled into the river when all the snow melts from the mountains.

Dance competitions have begun. This year we seem to have more competitions right around home and that's always nice...doesn't make for such a long day. Ashlyn's team danced at Syracuse High a few weeks ago and took 1st in lyrical and 4th in jazz and then this week at Roy High they took 2nd in jazz and again took 1st in lyrical, which gives them the chance to participate in another competition in May because of taking 1st twice in lyrical...they were super excited about this! Ashlyn loved that grandma and grandpa Sill came to watch her dance...

Colt's Primary Talk...Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer

In December, our family again finished reading the Book of Mormon, so my parents decided we should read the Newe Teswtament as a family. We are now reading in Acts. Over the past few months, I've learned so much about my Savior, Jesus Christ. My testimony has been strengthened as we've read together about the birth of Jesus Christ and how He came from heaven to live on earth as a mortal man. We've read about His time on earth and how He taught men the higher law. How He spent time as a boy, in the temple, being about His Father's work. We've read how He blessed the sick, how He caused the lame to walk, the blind to see and how He even raised people from the dead. But, I especially love to hear how He caused the deaf to hear. I have an aunt who is deaf, but I know that one day she will be able to hear again. It probably won't happen until Jesus comes on earth again, but I know that only through Him she will be able to hear. While Jesus lived on earth there were only a few who loved Him and learned of His words and followed Him. If we listen carefully, we can hear the same invitation He gave to Peter and to Philip and to all of His disciples..."Come, Follow me." Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. He is the perfect example for all of us. He taught us how to treat others with kindness. He taught us how to serve one another. He taught us how to be better. He taught us that we can live with Him and Heavenly Father by obeying the commandments and doing our best. We need to follow Jesus Christ every day. There are friends to serve and good deeds to be done and I know that when we follow Him, we are happy. My sister, Ashlyn, has a favorite hymn. It's "I Know that my Redeemer Lives." She loves this song because she knows Jesus Christ is her Savior and Redeemer and she knows 'He lives to silence all her fears.' She is a great example to me. Colt then bore his testimony about Christ and about knowing President Monson is the prophet today. He did a great job!

Colt's Desert Habitat...

In 3rd grade, all the students participate in the Habitat Project. Colt chose to do his diarama on the desert because he loves golden eagles and they live in the desert. He loves school and really excells at everything he does...what a great kid!
