Last night our family had the opportunity to have the Stake Presidency; President Alan Thurgood, President Thomas Rhoades and President Chad Hawks, visit with our family.
With ward conference coming up, they are taking the time to personally visit with the families of all the Bishops in the stake. President Thurgood shared with our family an experience they had with Elder Richard G. Scott while he was visiting our Stake conference in March. He counseled them to visit the families of the Bishops and to specifically talk with the children and tell them personally how pleased the Lord is with their dad serving as Bishop. He then told our family that blessings we can't even imagine will come to our family and to our children individually...it was a powerful moment as I watched these good men confirm what I already know.
They told us that serving faithfully and diligently in our callings can only enhance our roles as mother and father and will only bring more love and happiness to our family. They then testified that the Gospel of Jesus Christ and our family are truly one.
Before leaving, President Thurgood offered a prayer and promised us that angels would attend our home and things that aren't appropriate would be kept away. He blessed the children that they would come to understand the great blessing it is to have their father serving as Bishop. It was a wonderful night. We are so blessed!
