Garrett's parents rented an incredible vacation home in Park City for the family to get together and play together over the long Memorial weekend. It was so much fun...and way too hard to come back to real life and wake for school Tuesday morning. We stayed up till midnight every night and slept in every morning, ate yummy food and didn't have to do a single bit of housework. Definitely the life! The house was amazing, so open and huge...just beautiful! Even the stair in this place were gigantic and the view went on forever.
Colt could be found anywhere Bryson and Tolan were, Ashlyn and Bailey played UNO any chance they got and McKenna took care of the little girls and loved being with Bryson, too.

We played games like 'scramble' and hide-n-seek, pool, sat in the hot tub, hiked, played the Wii and Rockband, spent Saturday in Park City eating at Red Banjo Pizza Parlour, sharing a treat from the candy store and riding the trolley down Main Street, then ended the night with the adults and older kids playing Taboo, girls vs. boys. Toward the end of the game it got pretty competitive...good thing Aunt Nicole kept score. I'm pretty sure the girls won.The kitchen nook had these amazing windows that were perfect for spotting deer on the hills.
Wyatt, Sydney, Rylee and Emree are all the same age and had so much fun together. Sydney and Rylee are little posers, Rylee's twin, Emree, totally shys away from the camera. Emree loved to be close by my side and I loved that. Wyatt was enamored with Emree and would seek her out or call "Em" when he would lose sight of her...too cute!

Three generations...Wyatt, grandpa and Garrett

Downtown Park City...

Late Saturday night, Garrett headed back home to finish preparations for his 5th Sunday lesson and Bishop's Chat later Sunday evening, while the rest of us attended sacrament meeting in Park City, then off to visit graves in Wanship where Uncle Kurt's two brothers and grandpa Sill's relatives are buried in the most unusual cemetery we'd ever seen. After walking around the cemetery for a few minutes Ashlyn said to me, "Mom, when you bury me, will you please make sure there's grass around me??" First, I told her that she will bury me, not the other way around, and then I pointed to one of the graves that was mounded where the casket was (and it was not recently dug) and with a little smile I told her that we would be sure to mound hers like that one. "No way" she said, "that's one looks like they do in the movies where the zombies come out of them - no way, mom!"
Then to Coalville and the ranch where grandpa Powell was raised. The kids were good to listen to grandma and grandpa Sill tell stories of their grandparents and other ancestors. Then we drove to flat rock, but realized we wouldn't be able to climb it because of the 'No Tresspassing' sign. Apparently that didn't stop grandpa because he was quick to jump the fence and check it out...the rest of us waited safely on the right side. A perfect weekend with family.
