Last weekend while the boys were away on the ward Father and Sons camp out, the girls and I, along with McKenna's La Roca team also took off on our 2nd annual La Roca retreat to Midway.Again, another successful get-away with a bunch of great girls and moms. We are so lucky to have such great girls on this team and to have great parents and an awesome coach...try-outs are the first week in June so who knows what lies ahead...hopefully our team will pretty much stay together, with a few new girls and Ray will continue to train them.
McKenna is now full-time keeper and is amazing. For the past few weeks she's had the chance to play with Lyman's U12 premier team as their goalie (their usual goalie broke her thumb). It has been a great experience, nerve wracking for her and me, too, but it's really given her more confidence as a keeper. She only had one goal scored on her out of the six games she played with them...she was incredible. Diving at just the right times, charging at just the right times and taking control of every situation...I think she's pretty cool!
