Saturday night we met at grandma and grandpa's home for grandpa's 65th birthday celebration. Grandpa bore testimony of the things that are most important to him, hoping that the grand kids will one day come to know for themselves that these things are the only things that matter in life. He testified of daily prayer, personal scripture study every single day, working hard, and serving your family and others . He testified of the importance of having a personal relationship with the Savior and invited all of us to develop or continue to develop our own personal relationship with Christ. He spoke of his love for his Heavenly Father and the Savior and that with Christ and through Christ all things are possible. He told of his regrets of not reading the Book of Mormon every day when he was younger and how, as he has read diligently and faithfully the last five years, his eyes have been opened to what he could have had years ago. I love my father-in-law and love that he is a man of God. He is someone our children and Garrett and I will always look up to.
