Garrett had the opportunity to participate in his first fly fishing competition with Trout Unlimited. A few months ago he began putting together his team with four of his buddies who guide at Falcon's Ledge and Greg. I don't think he could stop thinking about it, or dreaming about it. Garrett hooked up the drift boat and he and Greg headed out for their next adventure.Their team took 7th overall, which is pretty good for fly fishing against a bunch of professionals. They each got to choose one fly to fish with for the day and when that fly got lost or couldn't be retrieved, you were out of the competition. The goal of the competition was to catch the most and the biggest fish amongst the 6 of them...they each had a judge in their boat and each person could choose to measure 2 fish, not knowing if the fish they just caught would be bigger than the next or smaller so they had to make a judgement call on each catch. Garrett had a blast and can't wait to participate again next year!
